What you should not be doing?

In Acrobat Pro, do not “Save As Reduced Size PDF.” (Although this is a useful feature, it does not significantly reduce pdf size.)

This simplifies the process of reducing PDF size.

Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Convert your.AI file to a.pdf. That brings our Corporate Profile to a whopping 73,085KB.

Step 2: Launch Acrobat Pro and open your.pdf file.

Step 3: Save your.pdf file as a PostScript (.ps) file in Acrobat by going to File > Save As. Our file has grown to 57,468KB.

(Note: If you save as an Encapsulated Postscript (.eps) file, each of your pages will be stored as a separate file.)

Step 4: Launch Acrobat Distiller and open your.PS file. Ascertain that your Default Settings are set to “Standard.” Acrobat Distiller will begin its job as soon as your file is opened. The application will replace your original PDF file (without prompting!). If the PostScript file has the same name, check sure you’re not saving over anything important.
